We’re in no rush to decide his next club – City Watch

Manchester City will lose Dutch under-19 international winger Javairô Dilrosun this summer unless of a major turnaround, with the player’s contract set to expire in June.

His decision to leave the Etihad Stadium has alerted a host of prominent clubs and the teenager recently flew to Lisbon to hear a proposal from Portuguese giants Benfica.

Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are two other high-profile clubs linked with Dilrosun, while reports in the English press claim Newcastle and Swansea also have an eye on snapping him up for what would be a modest compensation fee.

The player’s representative, Khalid Sinouh, says they are in no rush to decide his future though, with a plethora of options for the highly-rated youngster.

“We still have about two months to go until the summer and we’re in no hurry to decide,” Sinouh told Portuguese newspaper Record.

At the moment, there are no concrete offers for Dilrosun but plenty of interest. The youngster and his agent are calm about his situation, knowing he’ll be able to join a well-known club, but they want to ensure it is the right one for his development.

A versatile winger, Dilrosun has decided to quit the Etihad because he sees Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sané and Bernardo Silva ahead of him, plus a fellow youth product, Brahim Diaz, who is involved with Pep Guardiola’s City first team squad.

City are also expected to invest in another attacking midfielder this summer, with Monaco ace Thomas Lemar the latest linked after moves for Alexis Sanchez and Riyad Mahrez didn’t go through. Bayer Leverkusen hot-shot Leon Bailey is another wide man under consideration by City.
