Real Madrid’s next kit deal
Spanish paper AS have spun a terrific conspiracy theory on Tuesday linking Nike, Neymar, PSG and Real Madrid.
The starting point for the story is Real Madrid’s next kit deal.
Adidas are currently locked into a contract with Los Blancos until 2020.
The German kit manufacturer pays Real Madrid 40 million euros under the current deal structure.
But in today’s market that’s a cheap deal for Adidas, and Der Spiegel have already reported that Real Madrid and Adidas have begun talked about a renewal.
Nike vs Adidas
Real Madrid have reportedly told Adidas that they want 100 million euros a season to sign a renewal.
Adidas have yet to agree on that proposal, which has opened the door to competition.
AS claim that Nike are ready to fill the void and shake on that deal. And if Nike do secure Real Madrid’s next kit deal, Adidas’s contract could be cut short.
While Real may have to pay-off Adidas if they end the deal early, considering the size of the upcoming agreement it may be worth it.
Chelsea and AC Milan have broken contracts early previously, offering the boiler-plate for how Real could make the manufacturer switch.
‘Neymar to Real Madrid’
Nike’s sweetner to win the Real Madrid kit contract is Neymar, report AS. Readers are told:
Nike could be highly instrumental in any potential move involving Neymar Jr. moving from PSG to Real Madrid using the deal as part of their ongoing global strategy.
The ongoing battle between Nike and Adidas for global domination in the sportswear market could be fundamental in seeing the Brazilian striker return to LaLiga.
Nike are still smarting from losing the contract of the richest club in the world and one of the most lucrative globally when Premier League outfit Manchester United signed a deal with Adidas in a ten year year term worth just under 95 million euro per year.
Neymar is currently in Brazil working on his recovering from an operation to fix his fifth metatarsal.
It’s highly likely that Neymar’s PSG season is over.
