Borussia Dortmund make contact with Man United for Anthony Martial

Where will Anthony Martial go?

Anthony Martial has been linked to a number of clubs.

The French forward has had a miserable season at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho who is clearly not a massive fan of the 22 year old.

The former Monaco man arrived in Manchester in 2015 and Louis Van Gaal explained that Martial was ‘a gift to the next United manager’. The gift has not been best utilised by Mourinho.

Chelsea are keen on signing Martial but United would want Willian plus cash in order for the deal to go through.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in the Frenchman’s signature but now Borussia Dortmund have entered the frame.

Price concerns

Dortmund fans have fallen in love with Michy Batshuayi after the Belgian joined the club on loan in January but Chelsea may not be prepared to let him go on a permanent deal.

Le10Sport (French) report that Borussia Dortmund have contacted United and asked how much Martial would cost.

Dortmund will have to be prepared to spend big if they are to fend off interest from other top European clubs.

United signed Martial for over €60 million when he was just a teenager and Martial has showed us why he was worth that money with some fantastic displays domestically and in Europe.

Martial has been likened to Thierry Henry and any team would be lucky to have him in their ranks.

Can United catch City next year?

Man United secured second place with a draw at the London stadium on Thursday night.

The Red Devils have performed well in parts this term but have been nowhere near as good as their exceptional rivals, Manchester City.

If Man United want to win their title back next season, they are going to have to become more ruthless.

In my opinion, selling Martial would be a mistake but Mourinho has a history of letting top players go and this could add to the long list of regrets that the Portuguese manager has filed away in the back of his mind.
